I was totally nervous as I stepped on the dance floor, full of all kinds of people. Every color, shape, size as I can imagine of. I looked for the spot all the way at the end and just blended in. Everyone looks so synchronized and amazing and I felt I am just stuck at one place, but to my disbelief, I was in full swing just after 10 minutes in the class. However, In next 10 minutes teacher picked up the pace and I started falling back. But every single person in the class looked to happy and energized that I felt I can go on and on with this forever. I did get overly tired by the time we were halfway, but instructors kind words and loud cheers, kept me going and I finished the whole class with flying colors. I kept going to the same class for several weeks. In three weeks I was able to copy 80% of the choreography. There came time when I could not wait for the weekends to join my zumba buddies. Consistency and sticking to same choreography is the key. Zumba instructors normally keep the format such that they include same songs over and over again, with addition of one or two new songs, here and there.
Screaming, dancing and letting it all out. It was just fabulous. For several years, this class was part of my life and people in the class, are still family, even when i have moved on in life and left the place. I knew only thing that will take me away from my favorite instructor's Zumba class is, if I am sick or I move away from Harrisburg.
Over time, I joined many Zumba classes, before finally I decided that I am all set to create my own choreography and help so many other people like me, feel the same emotions and love for Zumba.
I lost 52 pound of my baby fat over a year period just jamming and dancing...Can it get better!!!! Once you step in the class, you cannot resist moving your feet, no matter how hard you may try. Its simple and amazing. You are not learning to dance here, you are learning to live life, that is full of fun and laughter. At the same time before you know you will see yourself shedding all the stubborn weight you have been living with.
